COVID-19 Guidelines: Touchless test drive for your customers

Many provinces have re-opened powersports and car dealerships as part of their COVID-19 phased economic recovery plans. At LendCare, we’ve put together a list of tips to ensure you and your customers remain safe and COVID-free during test drives. **Before the test drive**: * Ensure all staff are properly trained when conducting touchless test drive * Conduct a virtual tour of the vehicle before scheduling a remote test drive * Collect a copy of the customer's driver's licence electronically * Have customer provide their information (phone number and email) in case contact tracking is required * Ensure the customer agrees they will test drive the vehicle alone * Thoroughly sanitize the vehicle according to your region's Motor Vehicle Industry Council sanitization checklist if available * Leave sanitization wipes & hand sanitizer in the vehicle for the customer **During the test drive**: * Use PPE i.e. face mask covering the nose and mouth and gloves * When possible take the vehicle to the customer's residence as identified on their licence to prevent fraud * In the case of test drive at the dealership, use a lock box with the keys inside for the customer **After the test drive**: * Confirm that the customer has sanitized the surfaces they touched * Sanitize the vehicle immediately upon returning to the dealership
