Five Great Locations To Explore On Your Sea-Doo

For enthusiasts, summer isn’t here until you get your Sea-Doo into the water and go for that first spin. If your summer plans include finding exciting new places to explore on the lake, we’ve compiled a list of a great list of locations across the nation to add to your list.

Sitting an hour or so south of the St. Lawrence River, Témiscouata Lake offers everything you need to live your best life as a Sea-Doo owner. A part of Parc National du Lac Témiscouat a, with over 40 km of beauty to explore, there is a lot to love—whether taking a rip under the blazing sun or taking in some incredible fishing. If you’re considering spending a few days in the area, plan to take a trip around nearby Grand Lac Touladi, which happens to be a protected nesting site for elusive bald eagles.

In 2011, National Geographic Magazine listed Muskoka Lake as its number one place to take a summer trip—which isn’t surprising. Lined with cottages and boat houses and brimming with picturesque scenery, Muskoka embodies that image you immediately envision when you think about a relaxing Sea-Doo ride in cottage country. When you get tired of being wet, the surrounding community also offers quaint shops and unique dining experiences.

Tucked into the lush mountain backdrop of southern B.C., Shuswap Lake is a massive system of waterways that boasts 400 km of shoreline spread across four arms (Salmon, Shuswap, Anstey, and Seymour. Shuswap is a unique destination for summer fun because of the endless possibilities as you zoom past the numerous beaches, charming communities, and scenic provincial parks on your Sea-Doo. There is a lot to soak in, literally and figuratively.

If you plan a day at a beach, it might as well be one of the best—and the shallow sandy beaches surrounding Good Spirit Lake in Saskatchewan are among the nation’s most beautiful. They were once named one of Canada's top 10 beaches by Maclean's magazine. Surrounded by a provincial park on three sides, you’ll enjoy gorgeous white dunes as you Sea-Doo across the glistening blue water.

The Rideau Canal, Ottawa

While plenty of destinations offer picturesque, remote scenery that serves as an escape from the everyday urban experience, a Sea-Doo tour down Ottawa’s Rideau Canal (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) offers something different: a slice of history. You’ll see the beauty of Canada’s capital as you wind your way through the downtown core, from the iconic parliament buildings to the massive locks that connect the Ottawa River and the Rideau Canal.

National Drowning Prevention Week may have ended on July 23rd, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take the precautions necessary to ensure that your next adventure is not just fun but safe. That means wearing a life jacket, driving sober, supervising children if they are operating a Sea-Doo, and ensuring you follow all signs and warnings.
